The Buggy Museum preserves the only intact 19th century carriage factory open to the public in the United States. Our historic buildings include the Heiss family home, buggy showroom and the original Heiss Coachworks, as well as a modern visitor center. The Museum offers guided tours to visitors, special educational programs for local school children and youth groups, as well as adult programs and special events. The Museum's collection, which focuses on American transportation history, numbers more than 30,000 objects. These objects include buggy parts and finished buggies, bedding and furniture, books, photographs and company records. Donations to the Museum help to continue the Museum's mission of collecting, preserving and sharing the history of transportation, Mifflinburg and the Heiss family.
