The Exchange is an organization dedicated to bringing the arts to all communities throughout our region. Our projects include the Exchange Gallery, Destination Blues, the Art Cart, and more, and everything we do depends on the generosity of people just like you. The Exchange Gallery on Main Street in Bloomsburg, curated by a committee of volunteers, provides a venue for regional artists of all ages and levels of experience to display work in themed, open-call exhibitions and juried or invitational shows. At the three-day Destination Blues Music Festival in February, thousands of attendees from near and enjoy dozens of national, regional, and local Blues performers at multiple venues in Columbia and Montour Counties. In our year-'round "Backstage Pass to the Blues" program, we bring professional Blues musicians to schools in our region to tell the story of the roots of American music -- and we do it at no cost to the schools, thanks to generous contributions from foundations, companies, and individuals. The Exchange's Art Cart visit venues throughout our area, from daycare centers to nursing homes, with projects in many media including painting and drawing, cut-out paper, and sculpture. Our facilitators tailor projects to groups of all sizes and ages. As with "Backstage Pass", we provide the Art Cart for free. The Exchange also produces the annual one-day ArtFest street fair in Bloomsburg: It showcases original work by regional artists, accompanied by live music and activities for the whole family. A summertime art party, ArtFest draws families from well beyond Bloomsburg. In addition, we also organize Bloomsburg's annual Halloween window-painting and collaborate with other groups on the annual "BOO!burg" street fair.
