STEP's mission is to engage diverse individuals, families, and communities in the pursuit of social and economic success. This mission is fulfilled through five Pathways to Success - Early Learning, Housing Options, Workforce Development, Community Collaboration, and Independent Living. How does STEP impact our community? By the numbers, in 2017: 19,368 individuals became STEP customers. 1,073 infants and children received age-appropriate immunizations and medical/dental care. 319 children participated in preschool activities that prepared them for kindergarten or first grade. 794 caregivers learned and exhibited improved parenting skills. 104 families maintained safe and affordable housing. 2,714 households received assistance with utility bills, budgeting, and security deposit waivers. 679 caregivers enrolled children in childcare so they could attend work or classes. 2,819 customers obtained access to reliable transportation and/or a driver’s license. Information and referral services were provided through 42,422 phone calls. 2,340 customers utilized STEP Transportation, with a total of 109,766 rides. 4,862 meals were delivered to home-bound seniors. 99,019 hours of volunteer service were donated to the agency, at a value of $2,365,564.
