Cats in Bloom

Cats in Bloom was founded in 2019 with the mission to help stray, abandoned and abused cats and kittens in our community find great adoptive homes. Our vision is to provide an ameowzing place for adoptable cats and people to meet and socialize. We are a 100% volunteer-run nonprofit, and every single penny goes towards supporting the cats and kittens in our care along with café rent and maintenance.

Cats in Bloom has currently helped over 1,500 cats find their forever homes. In order to keep the momentum going, we'd love to be considered your choice from the very worthy nonprofits featured in this year's Raise the Region event!

Our café has been bustling with visitors and, of course, cats ready for adoption. We have had 7,647 people enter the cat café since November 2023. 343 cats and kittens have made their way home to new families, which takes our grand total to approximately 1,500 adoptions since opening in 2019!

Our foster network has over 90 cats waiting to enter the café for adoption. As you can imagine, accepting that many cats into foster comes with some hefty expenses. Our veterinary bills for spay/neuter and routine and specialty care have exceeded $25k recently. Prices for cat food and litter are higher than ever, so stocking up for our furry residents can be costly.

Your donations have enabled us to do so much good in our community. We take kittens to the Bloomsburg Children's Museum, Bloomsburg Public Library, and the Degenstein Community Library monthly. We’ve also partnered with Bloomsburg U to bring kittens to campus at the beginning of the semester to let students know about our volunteer opportunities and even delivered some kittens during Finals Week for some relaxation. Other events like Cat Yoga with Bloomin' Wellness Center and Radiant Soul Yoga and Wellness LLC, a Book Club, and Tats for Cats are also gaining popularity.
