The Mifflinburg Hose Company, a volunteer fire department in Central PA, serves six municipalities across 130 square miles. We respond to various emergencies, including fires, accidents, and medical assists. The department relies on donations, fundraising, and a small tax base to maintain equipment. We are raising funds to replace an engine and tower ladder, with costs totaling over $2.4 million. The new apparatus will serve the community for the next 30 years, but the rising prices of equipment, with the new tower ladder costing $1.6 million (compared to $499,000 in 1999), make fundraising more essential than ever.
