Who We Are

The Williamsport Symphony Orchestra is big city entertainment close to home offering something for everyone – from classical to pops, country to rock, brass bands to chamber music. Seventy professional musicians from across the region are led by Gerardo Edelstein, our energetic and engaging conductor. Educational programs for children and youth include the Williamsport Symphony Youth Orchestra, Williamsport Symphony Junior Strings, Student Outreach, Student Tickets, and the Young Artists Competition. Our Youth Orchestra and Junior Strings attracts nearly 100 young people to enhance their music skills and perform in a symphonic orchestra; our Student Outreach program provides schools in the region with tickets and transportation to a concert along with a pre-concert presentation by a Symphony musician; and our Student Ticket program provides free and reduced rate tickets to the concerts. In addition, an Elder Outreach program offers group discounts and transportation to the concerts. The Williamsport Symphony Orchestra’s mission is to be a cultural asset to the community by providing quality orchestra music, education, and performance opportunities for regional talent to an ever-expanding audience.
