Dwell exists to support local foster and adoptive families in Central PA, and beyond, so that children have a safe, loving, forever home in which to dwell. 

And in our short time serving kids in care, we know that it really has nothing to do with us.

It's about the deep care for the cause that is shared by our community.

It's about the hours given, the prayers lifted, and the resources poured into the programs that support these kids from hard places.

Together, We are the Village that supports vulnerable children and the families who love them.

This village delivers Foster Care Packages to homes receiving new placements.

This village connects parents with one another through Parent Care Groups.

This village gives countless hours of direct support and coaching to foster/adoptive families.

This village builds families through its support of Dwell's Adoption Assistance Grants.

This village provides clothing to foster children entering placement through The Hope Chest foster closet.

This village brings awareness to the cause of caring for orphans and vulnerable kids and the families who love them.

Who We Are

Dwell exists to support local foster and adoptive families in Central PA, and beyond, so that children have a safe, loving, forever home in which to dwell.

Dwell walks alongside foster and adoptive families helping and supporting them through the journey.

Since launching in 2019, we have seen the impact Dwell is having in our community. This impact has come in a variety of ways. Some of these include:

* Distributing more than 50 Care Packages to foster and adoptive families.
* Supporting 22 foster/adoptive moms and nearly 60 children through our Care Group.
* Providing more than 260 hours of direct support and coaching to foster/adoptive families.
* Providing financial assistance, through our Adoption Grant program, to a family who was able to bring their special needs, adopted daughter home from an orphanage in China!
* Standing with multiple families on their official adoption day!
* Partnering with six different child placing agencies.
* Organizing and participating in advocacy, outreach and fundraising events including - a golf outing, a 5K race, a prayer and praise night, a community engagement day and countless opportunities to share Dwell's mission of supporting foster and adoptive families in Central PA, to churches, schools, advocacy groups and individuals.

While is it gratifying and exciting to look back on the accomplishments of 2019, we are not slowing down. Dwell is striving toward some exciting projects in the future which include:

* Providing $20,000 in direct support to families seeking domestic or international adoption (the average cost of a domestic or international adoption is approximately $30K-$40K).
* Providing a Care Group for foster/adoptive fathers.
* Opening the Hope Chest! A foster family resource closet filled with items commonly needed in emergency placement situations.
* Offering TBRI Caregiver Trainings (Trust Based Relational Intervention). TBRI is a trauma-informed, therapeutic model that trains caregivers and educators to support at-risk youth.
* Serving churches by launching Family Advocacy Ministries to best care for the foster and adoptive families in their congregations.
