Montgomery Area Public Library

Since 1911, the Montgomery Area Public Library has been serving its surrounding communities. At the library, you can Discover, Connect, and Get Inspired.

Working with Career Link and accessing WIFI and public computers our community members can Discover new jobs and opportunities. 

Our library can help you Connect with your neighbors during programming like Book Buddies, Family Art Night, Book Club, and more.

Libraries also Inspire! You can be inspired by new worlds, characters, and experiences through reading. 

In 2021, our library was visited by over 11,000 community members. 

Over 26,000 physical items were checked out of our library and 1,560 electronic items were read. Our library also provided 90 programs, which included Book Buddies, Construction Club, Family Art Night, Book Club, Summer Reading programs, and more. 

Overall, our library is more than a building with books.

Who We Are

Montgomery Area Public Library Mission: To provide invaluable resources for all ages and all people for entertainment, learning, and personal growth.

MAPL is located at 1 S. Main Street, Montgomery in what used to be the First National Bank. The bank was built in the early '20's and the library bought the building in 1985.

Current Programming at MAPL: Book Buddies, Busy Builders, Video Game Night, Adult Book Club, and Adult DIY. Summer Reading starts in June. This years theme is "Color Your World"
