Hey You! I'm so happy you decided to take the next step to helping fight hunger and be a part of the change you wish to see in this world. Thank you in advance for your time to read why the Central PA Food Bank is near and dear to my heart, and if you felt led to donate, thank you for your donation! 

Currently, I am responsible for purchasing food for our 1,100+ partner agencies within the 27 counties we serve, food purchased that we do not get donated. We use our donor dollars to purchase healthy, nutritious foods that are highly discounted for our partners to purchase, who then distribute food out to all of our surround communities within Central PA that we serve. 

It's surreal to be sitting in this seat because not too long ago I was standing in the line of one our partner agencies with my at the time, 6-month old son (now 7). This partner agency helped support me through a difficult season in life, free of judgment and as a stepping stone to the next chapter of my life where I no longer needed to come to the food pantry. What I remember most outside of the kindness and support I felt when I walked through those doors was the types of food that were available and the nutrition education that went along with it. 

At our Food Bank not only do we work closely with our partners day to day, but we have tools and resources to help provide nutrition education as well. I was thankful to see name brand cereals and labels, produce, meat, cheese, dairy and eggs just as I would in a grocery store. 

Today, I do my very best to ensure we provide comforting, diverse and nutritious food options for those utilizing one of our partners as a stepping stone to their next chapter, so that they would feel as cared for and loved as I did in my time of need. 

As we all know, our economy, the financial climate we're living in is a challenging one. We are seeing more families and individuals seeking out support and we are so appreciative for individuals like yourself who are able and willing to share and be the gift that keeps giving. Any amount that's on your heart is appreciated as we work together to make food accessible because I believe no person, no child, should be worried about where they get their next meal from, or choosing between food and bills. Help bridge a gap that so desperately needs poured into and I pray that God would pour back a blessing into your life.
