Friends & Ferals

Friends & Ferals started in March of 2024 with six women who became friends through their shared love of cats. Each of our founding members was already active in local animal advocacy, including rescue, fostering and TNR. We have since added three more members to our board as well as almost two dozen fosters and volunteers who share our values and beliefs. In less than one year, our numbers have shown just how effective our small, but mighty team can be:

Our local shelters and rescues are inundated with owner surrenders, cruelty cases and friendly strays, leaving little resources and funds for community cats. Friends & Ferals feel strongly that community cats deserve the same attention, care and respect as owned pets, even if they don't appreciate those efforts. With that sentiment as our guiding principle, we've focused our mission on the cats and kittens that everyone else overlooks.

The support of our organization in just under a year of starting up has been amazing! We have been blessed to not only build a strong following in our community and online but with other local rescues and organizations that share our mission. By working together with organizations like Pennsylvania P.E.T.S, Cats in Bloom Cat Cafe and the Danville PSPCA, we have been able to impact over 600 cats since our founding in March 2024. We're humbled everyday by our community.
